Knauf Hydro Flex is a ready-made product for waterproofing in bathrooms and other wet rooms. Contrary to popular belief, ceramic tiles do not guarantee full protection of the substrate against moisture. Although the tiles themselves are impermeable to water, the joints between them are not 100% waterproof. Even with very thorough grouting, micro-cracks remain between the tiles, through which moisture penetrates. It's a simple way to grow fungi and mold. To avoid this, it's best to insulate the surface under the tiles with Knauf Hydro Flex liquid film. The film creates a waterproof coating that forms a moisture barrier and prevents it from entering the substrate.
